Baby Announcement Picture

Crafting up more then colorful creations these days...WE ARE PREGNANT!

Took me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to make these tie dye tees for this baby announcement photo. I seriously screwed them up once before last month and this last time I made two of each design but one of the peace signs turned out weirdly retro looking, not what I pictured for the pic.

Tried hard to get three different designs and color schemes in one pic, the  Peace, Love & Happiness
theme was just an obvious decision that turned out so darn adorable!

The actual t-shirts used in this photo are for sale in our Etsy tie dye shop along with most of the other peace signs and heart tees made.

Pregnancy Cravings - Cherries

Had a MEGA cherry craving and found a simple recipe to make a homemade Cherry Pie which turned out so damn good eaten hot or cold! And yes, I sang Warrant's "Cherry Pie" the whole damn time!

Cute stars hid all my melted lattice mistakes

Honestly I've never made a cherry pie and quite frankly didn't think I even liked cherry pie but boy was I wrong, unless the pregnancy is making me like things I never have. Either way...YUMMO.

Started off by pitting those dang cherries which did suck and was very messy. I tried doing it with a paperclip since I saw a video of someone doing it real quick & easy like but yea, it didn't work that way for me so I just smashed the buggers and made a mess in the process.

Messy & stained my hands

Making the filling was super easy but I did have to stir it for a long time until it got thick & gooey, sooooo worth it.

Easy peasy

Then I decided to make a fancy lattice top for the pie which I had done before on an apple pie but...totally forgot the apple pie was COLD when I put the lattice top on so it was pretty easy to do. The cherry pies filling was NOT cold it was luke warm but apparently thats still warm enough to melt the lattice topping and I had melted & broken strips all over making it impossible to do nicely.  Luckily there was leftover crust to cut some stars out of and I covered all my mistakes up making the pie look damn professional when done.

Lattice in the making

Sugared the top & covered the edges in tinfoil to not burn what little crust I had on the sides (I HATE tons of side crust so I made very little) then it was off to the oven for the pie!

Ready to bake

The filling managed to explode a wee bit but all and all it looked pretty darn good for my first cherry pie which I shared with my man and his family that evening!

22 Weeks - Meeting My Doctor

the day has come for me to actually meet my OB/GYN doctor, Dr. A!
It's weird not knowing who will be delivering our child for this long but that's what I get for waiting forever to schedule my prenatal appointments in the first place. June was the first month I started going to the clinic, and mind you I've supposedly been pregnant since February but didn't even know until around the last week of March. Bad girl! Hey, I though I had a super bad case of the flu, the thought of being pregnant didn't even pop into my head until I was around 3 weeks late on my period since I've been late before when sick. Whoops.

Peed in a cup, weighed in at 210 lbs.
Our meeting was semi short for she was busy with other Mommy-to-be appointments that day but overall I got a good vibe from her. Measured my belly, listened to baby's heartbeat. She did inform me of some scary things to think about since with my first pregnancy I had 4th degree lacerations which may make my second birth difficult. Was told if the baby gets too big too fast I may have to be induced or have to schedule a c-section! Eeeeks. Not really what you want to hear or think about when pregnant but facts are facts and she was just doing her job lol. Now I'm even more nervous for delivery day but looking back on the tragic experience I had 20 years ago at the ripe age of 16, I don't remember actually being in pain for ever and of course it was all worth it in the end so yea...women's bodies are amazing! Hopefully things will go smoother this 2nd time around, I would like to have at least one more child before I turn 40 years old.

We'll see tho...

Pregnancy Cravings - Cheesecake & Alfredon't

My man made me an awesome cheesecake since he was going to one of his good friends (who had moved far away a while back) bachelor party during the 4th of July weekend this year. It sort of sucked being home alone over a holiday but eh, I got a cheesecake & had 4 fluffy kitties to share the loud weekend with. They hate the 4th lol.

Yummy Cheesecake

Lets just say I ate waaaay too much by myself and to top it off I thought having alfredo one night would be a good idea as well.....NOPE! I'm sure even if he had been home I would of overdosed in cheesecake and still ate alfredo making me sick as a dog anyway so I'm glad he was gone and didn't have to deal with me living in the bathroom for those couple of days. Uuuugh it was awful and I'm pretty sure I wrecked myself from even smelling another cheesecake for a while. Dang.

Too much dairy is scary when pregnant, note taken!

Toilet Paper mAdNeSs

It's downright ridiculous how much toilet paper I've been going through being 5 months pregnant!

TONS of empty TP rolls

Pee pee pee all day long and waking every few hours each night to pee pee pee some more....honestly looking into trying the tubeless brand of TP but I soooo love my Charmin Red and everytime I try to switch brands I regret it majorly. So yea, conundrum.

At least I found some pretty interesting DIY crafts to whip up with all those left over TP rolls like this spooky Halloween glow in the dark eyes in a bush one! How fun, totally sticking these everywhere this year lol.
